Turkey burgers are a great way to really keep the protein high and the fat low and can make great on the go snacks. They are also a great way to feel like you are getting a satisfying treat without overindulging. I love to pair this burger with some gherkins and mustard and a slimbo to keep the calories lower than a traditional burger.
If you find turkey quite dry generally try mixing lean beef and turkey together
Turkey Burger: (approximately 200 calories per burger without bun)
1/2 pounds ground turkey or 1/4 pound lean beef mince and 1/4 pound of lean breast of turkey mince
1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
1/2 teaspoon of chili flakes
1/2 teaspoon paprika
1 tablespoon of worcestershire sauce
1 beaten egg
1/3 cup finely chopped onions (i use frozen)
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
2 tablespoons soy sauce
1/2 oatmeal ground in a blender
Nead all the ingredients together in a bowl before making each burger.
Pan Fry the burgers in a non stick pan until cooked thoroughly on both sides.
