Looking for a healthy alternative to chips? or if you even find it difficult to cut that sweet treat in the evening this recipe may be just the option for you. Sweet potatoes are known for being low on the GI index which means they release energy slowly into the body slower than regular potatoes which in essence means they have less chance of being converted into body fat. Good news all around so.
How to make sweet potato fries
- You need 5 small sweet potatoes
- Chop into chips (I prefer to leave the skins on for extra bite)
- Place in large bowl and drizzle with desert spoon of olive oil
- Sprinkle desert spoon of cajun spices, ground black pepper, pinch salt, tsp paprika and tsp chili flakes
- Mix well until all potatoes are coated evenly.
Bake in a preheated oven 200 degrees on a chip tray or rack to allow heat to circulate underneath for 30-40 minutes.
